PLOT
The role of the Saenome is to seal spirits that threaten civilization, known as tsukumogami, which are usually non-violent and can often be sealed after a simple conversation. Hyouma Kunato, traumatized by a past encounter with a malevolent spirit, refuses to approach tsukumogami peacefully and instead fights them whenever he encounters them. To prevent his expulsion from their ranks, his grandfather Zouhei suggests that he live with Botan Nagatsuki, a young woman whose family includes six tsukumogami, in hopes of changing his behavior. Reluctantly, Hyouma agrees to this arrangement, motivated by his desire to find the spirit that took everything from him. He must earn Botan's trust and overcome his resentment towards her unique family, especially as mysterious groups of evil spirits begin to threaten the balance between their worlds.
