PLOT
The plot takes place during the Hundred Years' War between France and England for the right to the French crown in the fifteenth century. At a school for royal knights, Montmorency—the son of a noble—dives headfirst into his studies of magic and alchemy. However, the school is shut down as a result of France's humiliating defeat at Agincourt. Montmorency, a newly minted alchemist who has lost everything and is now a wanted man, meets Jehanne, a strange rural girl.
