PLOT
"Memories" is a 1995 Japanese animated anthology film produced by Madhouse and executive produced by Katsuhiro Otomo, who is well-known for his work on "Akira." The anthology consists of three standalone short films: "Magnetic Rose" - Directed by Kōji Morimoto and written by Satoshi Kon, it's a science fiction story that follows a group of space travellers who respond to a distress signal and come across an abandoned spaceship filled with haunting memories. "Stink Bomb" - Directed by Tensai Okamura and written by Katsuhiro Otomo, it's a comedic story about a young lab technician who accidentally transforms himself into a biological weapon with a deadly, foul odor. "Cannon Fodder" - Written and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, it's a dystopian story about a society dedicated to the constant firing of cannons in an endless war.
