PLOT
The Great Passage, a brand-new dictionary, is now being written. Kouhei Araki, the departing editor of the dictionary department, has chosen Mitsuya Majime, a former employee of Genbu Publishing's sales division, to succeed him because of his enthusiasm and devotion to reading. Internally, the dictionary division is referred to as the "money-eating insect" (loss making), yet Mitsuya exploits his tenacity and devotion to the words to become a superb editor.
