PLOT
One day in Juban, Tokyo, Usagi Tsukino, a middle school girl, discovers Luna, a talking black cat, who offers her a magical brooch that allows her to change into Sailor Moon, a soldier tasked with defending Earth from evil. To find their princess and the Silver Crystal, Luna and Usagi put together a group of other Sailor Guardians. They run into the serious Ami Mizuno, who transforms into Sailor Mercury; Rei Hino, a young woman from a nearby Shinto shrine; Makoto Kino, a tall and powerful transfer student; and Minako Aino, a young aspiring idol who transformed into Sailor Venus a few months earlier, accompanied by her talking cat Artemis. They also become friends with Mamoru Chiba, a high school student who occasionally helps them out as Tuxedo Mask.
