PLOT
Princess Knight is the narrative of Sapphire, who must pose as a male prince in order to succeed to the kingdom of Silverland because women are not permitted to do so. The action takes place in a medieval European-style fairy tale setting. Her father, the King, declares that his child is a male rather than a girl as soon as she is born. This is because Duke Duralumin, the heir apparent who would oppress the populace if his son Plastic were to succeed him, is a wicked man and the next in line to the throne. Baron Nylon, a trusted lieutenant of Duralumin, frequently plots to seize control of the realm while also attempting to disprove Sapphire's gender. Sapphire can maintain her facade because she was born with both a pink and a blue heart—the blue heart of a boy. As a result, Tink, a young angel-in-training, was dispatched by God to Earth to retrieve Sapphire's additional heart. Sapphire, however, would not allow Tink to take her son's heart.
