PLOT
In order to track out the killer of her father Isshin Matoi, Ryuko Matoi, a homeless transfer student with a scissor-shaped longsword that can cut Goku uniforms, travels to Honn City. As a result of her search, she decides to enroll in Honnouji Academy, a militaristic high school run by Satsuki Kiryuin, the president of the student council, and her Elite Four with the use of a material known as Life Fibers. In an underground complex beneath the ruins of her father's house, Ryuko discovered a sentient sailor suit after making an unsuccessful attempt to challenge Satsuki on her first day. She calls the costume "Senketsu," and discovers later that it is a pure Life Fiber garment known as a Kamui ("Godrobe") that enhances her skills while she is in transformation. Satsuki accepts Ryuko's challenge if she can defeat the two-star student club presidents who are aiming for her by donning her family's Kamui Junketsu at great risk to her safety. Along with her hyperactive classmate Mako Mankanshoku, a low-achieving student who let Ryuko to live with her impoverished family, and her homeroom instructor Aikuro Mikisugi, a covert member of the anti-Life Fiber paramilitary group Nudist Beach, Ryuko is joined by these individuals.
