"Hunter x Hunter" (1999) is an anime adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi's manga series of the same name. This series has since been remade in 2011 with a more extended story arc. However, the 1999 version, with its own charm and direction, still holds a special place in the hearts of many fans. The story revolves around a young boy named Gon Freecss, who discovers that his supposedly deceased father is, in fact, a renowned "Hunter" - licensed individuals capable of tracking down secret treasures, rare beasts, or even other individuals. Inspired by his father's reputation, Gon decides to pass the rigorous "Hunter Examination" and become a Hunter himself in hopes of finding his father. During his journey, Gon befriends several other aspiring Hunters, including the revenge-driven Kurapika, the ambitious doctor-in-training Leorio, and the ex-assassin Killua. The series follows their adventurous journey, featuring a variety of challenges and threats that they face as they push their abilities to the limit.
