The second season of the television series, 2nd GIG, which is set two years after the first season's events, explores the political and social repercussions of the two world wars that occurred before the series' events[3]. During the Third and Fourth World Wars, about three million Asian refugees were invited into Japan as a source of cheap labor. These "invited refugees," who were living on the reclaimed island of Dejima, quickly lost their jobs after the war, and their social turmoil almost amounted to open hostilities.
