A crossover anime called Cyborg 009 VS Devilman was first revealed in March 2015 as new works of both Cyborg 009 and Devilman (in April 2015). Later it was discovered that the two were one piece. Before being made available as OVAs, it was shown in theaters for a two-week period starting on October 17, 2015. The production was co-sponsored by Ishimori Production in honor of the Cyborg 009 manga's 50th anniversary.
