"Detective Conan" (known as "Case Closed" in North America) is a long-running anime and manga series created by Gosho Aoyama. The series follows high school detective Shinichi Kudo who, while investigating a suspicious activity, is attacked by members of a crime syndicate known as the Black Organization and forced to ingest a poison. However, instead of killing him, the poison transforms him into a child. To protect his identity and investigate the circumstances of his transformation, he assumes the name Conan Edogawa. He moves in with his childhood friend, Ran Mouri, and her father, Kogoro Mouri, a private detective, without them knowing about his real identity. As Conan, he continues to solve various cases and crimes, often using Kogoro as his proxy, while also searching for a cure to his condition and hunting down the members of the Black Organization.
