PLOT
Marin has a nice adoptive family and a regular junior high school personality. When a bizarre mirage is noticed in the sky above the entire earth, her life undergoes a significant transformation. From the heavenly formation known as Brigadoon, killer androids known as Monomakia make their way to Earth and start looking for young Marin. As she searches for a way out, she finds a blue bottle in a shrine. From the bottle emerges a protector, a sword-wielding, alien named Melan Blue. Together, they must save the earth and deal with a family crisis, school prejudice, and the police, as well as learn to trust one another and understand Marin's past and Melan's mysterious mission. With a diverse cast of allies and foes, it is set in 1969 Japan.
