PLOT
The series, created by Dan Mandel and Chris Pearson, features main characters Dan and Chris, whose personalities are loosely inspired by the creators' own negative qualities. Initially conceived as a live-action sitcom, the idea evolved into an animated series during development. Pearson described Dan as akin to a grown-up version of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes, imagining what it would be like if Calvin's life had taken a disastrous turn.
