PLOT
Tonbo Ooi, the main character, lost her parents in a car accident at a young age and was raised by her grandfather, Gonzou Ooi, a fisherman living on the island of Kagoshima in the Tokara Islands. Tonbo learned to play golf using her father's inherited No. 3 iron on the island's three golf courses, which were built by the islanders themselves.
