PLOT

Hotaru Hinase, a freshman in high school, places utmost importance on her family and friends. Unfamiliar with the concept of romance, she decides she will be content with a life devoid of love. While spending time at a cafe with a close friend, Hotaru witnesses the painful breakup of a handsome honor student, Hananoi. On her way home, she encounters him sitting alone in the snow and offers him her umbrella as a kind gesture. The following day, Hananoi appears in Hotaru's classroom, expressing his desire to be her boyfriend. Despite her rejection, Hananoi remains steadfastly by Hotaru's side, performing selfless acts in hopes of winning her over. Hotaru begins to experience emotions she has never felt before. Believing that these emotions could develop into love, Hotaru agrees to date Hananoi.
