PLOT
Parallel Lovers is a story about Koyomi Hidaka, a seven-year-old boy who chooses to live with his father after his parents' divorce. His father, a researcher at the Japanese Institute of Virtual Science, is studying parallel worlds. Through his father's work, Koyomi meets Shiori Satou, the daughter of another divorced researcher. The two become close friends and eventually plan to marry. However, their plans are disrupted when their parents decide to marry each other, making them step-siblings. Refusing to accept this, Koyomi and Shiori use their parents' research to escape to a parallel world. Their quest for a new life together leads to unforeseen consequences that threaten their future.
