In the past, the Viscount of Belfor rejected Burton and his wife Michelle's request to see his doctor for their ill son due to Burton being his gardener. As a result, the son died. In the present, William arrives in Durham where he learns about Michelle. When he catches up with Louis, he receives a dinner invitation from the viscount.
