Thea and her team plan to smuggle Matilda out of the country by ship. Meanwhile, Klaus and Lily investigate a murder scene where the thieves who had targeted Matilda had all been killed. Klaus figures out that Matilda is manipulating Thea's team, but decides to prioritize neutralizing the Galgad agent sent to back her up. Meanwhile, the backup agent White Spider meets Matilda, and she admits she doesn't truly love Annette and is actually responsible for her amnesia through repeated beatings. That night, White Spider attempts to snipe Thea but is stopped by Klaus, who recognizes him as a member of Serpent and the sniper responsible for killing Guido. Meanwhile, Monika distracts the military while Thea and the others get Matilda to a shipping container, but Thea realizes too late that Matilda is manipulating them and has no choice but to let her go. White Spider also manages to barely escape Klaus by using a bomb as a distraction. Afterwards, Klaus tracks down Annette, as he has figured out that Annette already knew Matilda was lying and manipulated everybody to ensure Matilda's death, killing her with her own bomb. Klaus praises Annette, as she possesses the ruthlessness the rest of Lamplight lacks. As Lamplight returns home, Klaus encourages an embarrassed Thea that she can atone for her mistake by succeeding in her next mission.
